What we collect, why we collect it, and how to make us stop.
American Market Insiders ("AMI," "we," "us") publishes a free email newsletter about public financial disclosures. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our pages or subscribe, and what we do with it.
The short version: we collect your email address so we can send you the newsletter, plus basic analytics about how you found us. We do not sell your personal information. You can unsubscribe from every email we send, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected].
When you fill in a subscription form, we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that may include:
Preference fields are always optional. If you would rather not answer them, leave them blank; you will still receive the newsletter.
When you visit our pages, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, government ID, bank or brokerage account numbers, account credentials, or payment card details. Our newsletter is free and we will never ask you to enter payment information. If you ever receive a message appearing to be from AMI that requests any of this, it is not from us — please report it to [email protected].
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Our pages may use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising pixels from platforms such as Meta and Google, to measure ad performance and understand traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; our pages will still work. Most advertising platforms also offer their own ad-personalization controls in your account settings on those platforms.
We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no agreed standard for what a publisher must do when one is received.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with advertisers or other newsletters for them to market to you.
We do use third-party service providers to operate the newsletter. They receive only what they need to perform their function, and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing:

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others. If our business is transferred or acquired, subscriber information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Our newsletter is free because it carries sponsorships. When an issue contains paid placement, we identify it as such. Sponsors do not receive your personal information, and paying for placement does not buy editorial coverage or influence what we report.
We keep your subscription information for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterward to honor your unsubscribe request and to keep records of consent. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so except where we are required to retain something by law.
Unsubscribing. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. It works immediately and we will not ask you why.
Access, correction, and deletion. Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you may email us to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will not charge you and we will not discriminate against you for asking.
If you are in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by that law.
If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, the GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our lawful basis for sending you the newsletter is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. Our lawful basis for basic analytics and security is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the publication.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to confirm that the request is coming from the email address in question before we act on it.
We operate in the United States, and our service providers are primarily located there. If you subscribe from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from that of your country.
Our publication is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we will delete the record.
We use reputable third-party platforms and take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the change is significant, we will say so in the newsletter.
